Resonance: Baithak with Prasad Khaparde

Basant Bahar is pleased to announce the first Baithak in "Resonance: An Intimate Baithak Series" with Prasad Khaparde. The intent of this series is to experience music in a traditional Baithak setting


Prasad Khaparde’s initial training in classical music was under the guidance of the eminent gurus of Gwaliar Gharana Shri. Bhalerao guruji, Lt. Pandit D. V Panke and Lt. Pandita Sumantai Choudhari. Later he became a scholar at ITC Sangeet Research Academy of Kolkata and since then has been under the tutelage of Ustad Rashid Khan. From his guru Ustad Rashid Khan,  Prasad achieved an authenticity in many aspects of the Rampur Sahaswan Gharana. He gave his first public concert at the age of 7 years. Now he is one of the top-most vocalists of India today


Ramdas Palsule,  a Pune-based tabla player, is an A-grade All India Radio artist. A disciple of Pt. Suresh Talwalkar, he blends traditional repertoire with modern ideas, performing globally. His style is characterized by clarity of structure and a contemporary perspective within classical grammar. He has worked with a wide range of leading artists across vocal, instrumental, and dance traditions, including Pandit Jasraj, Prabha Are, Parveen Sultana and M. Balmuralikrishna, Hariprasadji, Amjad Ali Khan, Shivkumarji, and Birju Maharaj 


Abhinay Ravande comes from a family of musical background and kirtan tradition at Nanded. He received his initial training in Harmonium as well as vocal music from his own father Shri Laxmikant Ravande Ji for 5 years. Since 10 years he has been learning harmonium under the tutilage of Pandit Pramod Marathe Ji at Gandharva Mahavidyalay Pune in Gurukul Paddhati. He has completed his Visharad and Graduation in Harmonium. 


Please arrive by 4:15 PM. You are welcome to get a cushion to sit on the carpet. We will provide chairs at the edges for those in need. Post concert, there will be limited seating dinner for purchase separately, providing an opportunity to interact with the artists.
